Privacy is important, and at ChristianPlays.Net we respect your right to personal privacy. We only collect the data required to provide our services to you by us directly and by the exclusive group of service companies that we purchase services from in order to provide services to you.
We do not pass your data on to third parties.
References to the terms “we”, “us”, and “our” means ChristianPlays.Net and our contracted service providers. References to the terms “you” and “your” mean the individual, group or organisation to whom we are providing services.
The Collection Of Your Data
We receive data from the following sources, via the following services, and at the following times:
- Processing of purchases and payments at our website when a transaction for a play or royalty is completed. Our secure payment provider PayPal provides this.
Data collected and passed onto us: Date, Price, Name, Email Address, Transaction ID Number.
- Orders for purchase and payments at our website for digital download to be provided at the completion of payment. The data is provided by our secure ordering system provided by e-junkie.com
Data collected and passed onto us: First name, Last name, E-mail address, IP Address, GeoIP
- Signups at our website for our email newsletters (via a form on our website). The data is handled by our secure database provider Campaign Monitor.
Data collected: Email Address, First Name, Last Name, Organization Name, Country.
- Direct email contact to our office via our email provider Gmail.
Data collected: Name, Email Address
- Performance registration via the form on our website. This data is for the producing organisation rather than an individual.
Data collected: Title of Play, Number of Performances, First Performance, Final Performance, Date, Performance Venue, Producing Church/School/Organisation, Email address, Your website address, Postal Address, City, State or Province, Postal Code, Country
- Statcounter – Visiting our website.
Data collected: Time and date of visit, IP address, Browser and Operating System, Device information, Referring Data. See information below.
Statcounter – information specific to our use of the Statcounter Service
Statcounter is an online service which helps us to understand our visitors; for example, how visitors find our website, how long they spend on our site, which web pages they are most interested in etc. We use Statcounter because better understanding how visitors are interacting with our website helps us to improve the content, design and functionality of our site. This allows us to offer a better online experience to our visitors.
Statcounter uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on visitors and visitor activity on our website. This data includes:
- Time and date of visit (this can help us to identify and plan for busy periods on our website)
- IP address (this is a numerical label assigned to a device by an Internet Service Provider to enable the device to access the internet)

Consent means offering you real choice and control. Our newsletter is sent to you by your consent. You choose to sign up for the newsletter at our website, and you can control this choice by opting out at any time. Contract
We can't enter into a contract with you without data from you. We are committed to only requiring the necessary data from you and no more. You contract us when you choose to purchase a product (a play). We need your details to complete the contract of the order you have initiated. If you cancel the order before completion, we will not receive your data.
When you request a Performance License, we need your data to create the contract. Again, you are in control of your information as you have initiated the contact and our application form shows what information we require before you begin.
Legal Obligation
Processing your data is necessary for us to comply with legal obligations to which we are subject. We need to keep some transactional data to prove that our source of income is legitimate. A record is kept of each financial transaction to do this. We retain Date, Amount, PayPal Transaction ID, Your Email Address, Your Name. The information is supplied to us by PayPal.
Agreement To Our Collection And Use Of Your Personal Data.
By providing your data to us, to receive or engage in our services, you are giving us your agreement to collect and store your data in the provision of our services. The collection of data and provision of services may be by us directly or via service providers we engage with to provide our services to you. These service providers include Gmail (www.gmail.com), Paypal (www.paypal.com), Campaign Monitor (www.campaignmonitor.com), E Junkie (www.e-junkie.com), Statcounter (http://statcounter.com)
How We Will Use Your Data
Your data will only be used for the purpose by which it was supplied.
- Data supplied for receipt of our newsletter will be used solely for the delivery of the newsletter.
- Data supplied for purchase or payment will be solely used to process the payment and supply goods/services.
- Data supplied for registration of performance will be used solely for the registration of the performance.
- Data supplied for contact with our office will be solely used in response to that contact.
Duration Of Data Storage
In using our services, we assume that you wish your data to remain with us until you advise us otherwise. The data that we store is detailed in the section above titled “The Collection Of Your Data”.
Data that you have supplied to PayPal is managed in the relationship that you have with PayPal and therefore requests for removal of data must be made to PayPal and will be subject to PayPal’s terms and conditions.
We anticipate that you may wish to receive information on your purchase or payment sometime in the future. Our ability to provide this will be dependent on the storage of your data. We do not have access to your credit card information as Paypal handles this.
Data is also stored for us to meet our obligations for taxation to the New Zealand Government.
You Have Rights
European Union law, called the General Data Protection Regulation or "GDPR" gives certain rights to individuals about their data. We think this is excellent.
You have the right to request the following:
Access to your data, Rectification of your data, Erasure of your data, Restriction of the processing of your data, a Copy of your data.
Please note that we have a legal obligation to store some transactional data for records for taxation to the New Zealand Government. The data we store for each payment transaction is Date, Amount, PayPal Transaction ID, Your Email Address, Your Name. The information is supplied to us by PayPal.
You can also Object to our use of your data for marketing purposes. Although, we only market to you with your consent and at your request after you have signed up for our newsletter on our website.
Our email newsletters have an “unsubscribe” or “opt-out” option to remove you from our email campaign database immediately. You can also email our office at info@christianplays.net with a request for removal. All requests are actioned in a timely fashion.
Our email campaign service provider (Campaign Monitor) provides a system whereby we can see who has and has not opened the email newsletter. It also provides data on where geographically the email may have been opened. The system shows who clicked on what links contained in the email. The purpose of this reporting is to assist us in determining how to better provide relevant information to you.
Storage Of Your Data
Storage of your data is online. As we engage the services of Gmail, Campaign Monitor, E Junkie, Statcounter and PayPal the locations of their particular data centres is determined by them. We are unable to provide national location guarantees for the storage of your data.
Web Browser Cookies
A cookie is a small file on your computer that saves Internet settings. Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance your experience. Your web browser places cookies on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about you such as which pages you have visited and when you were last at the website. Personal data is not stored in the Cookie. You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you do so, note that some parts of the website ordering process may not function properly as the shopping cart may use Cookies to keep track of your items.
